Position Overview

Job Summary:

The Business Application Manager will work closely with functional leaders, institutional units, and subject matter experts in documenting business requirements, training materials and conducting user acceptance testing, software integration and configuration projects. The Business Application Manager will be involved in all aspects of the software development life-cycle, from project/feature backlog prioritization, requirement engineering, and development oversight through testing, release and support for products serving our institutional end users. Acting as a liaison between business and technology, creative problem solving, impeccable communication and attention to detail are key skills expected in this role. This individual will also be responsible for point and click administration and configuration of key systems.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

ADMINISTRATION

  1. Collaborate with business users and managers during the project initiation phase: setting project and feature backlog priorities, and defining scope
  2. Develop detailed business & functional requirements, including use cases, user stories and wire-frames
  3. Conduct User Acceptance Testing and end user training
  4. Provide point and click administration and configuration of CRM system
  5. End to end project management of small to mid-sized projects
  6. Provide ongoing consulting and expertise in key areas of focus
  7. Automate processes using Salesforce tools such as process builder, Flow, validation rules, and NPSP, Traction Rec, PatronManager, Traction Gather, Upace and more
  8. Manage less complex Salesforce integrations - those not handled by a Salesforce Developer, Consultant or Implementation Partner
  9. Serve as Salesforce advocate across the agency, increase adoption and elevate agency's ability to leverage tools and improve business efficiency.
  10. Must be organized, detail-oriented and have the ability to work with employees at all levels
  11. Ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize work and meet strict deadlines
  12. Ability to work on comprehensive projects with general direction and minimal guidance

AGENCY EXPECTATIONS

  1. Attend monthly staff and departmental meetings
  2. Attend and actively participate in weekly supervisory meetings and processes
  3. Participate in agency-wide in-service training programs
  4. Participate in agency-wide special event programming

  7. Ability to assess the impact of new requirements on Salesforce and other integrated systems

  14. Ability to critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs
  15. Strong understanding of the Salesforce platform, with the ability to build custom apps and objects, formula fields, processes, custom views, and other content of intermediate complexity preferred
  16. Ability to assess the impact of new requirements on Salesforce.com and all upstream and downstream applications, systems and processes
  17. Previous experience developing requirements for CRM project or implementation
  18. Previously responsible for point and click administration of mission critical system (ex: ERP, CRM, CMS etc.)
  19. Minimum four years of experience as a Salesforce administrator preferred
  20. Previous experience working in a SCRUM or agile environment preferred
  21. Salesforce Admin (ADM201) certified, Platform App Builder and Nonprofit or Sales Cloud Consultant preferred
  22. Experience with nonprofit processes preferred
  23. Expertise in PC environment and Microsoft Office
  24. Proficient in software development process and user acceptance testing.
  25. Passion for the mission of the nonprofit preferred
